Christ" points to the truth of Christian
hedonism by
preaching
truth in the pulpit,
Exulting in God through expository preaching Exalting Christ in the gospel of justification by faith Encouraging
saints with the full counsel of God by
discipling
the saints,
Equipping
them for the work of ministry by strengthening
the family,
Restoring
the model of family worship and discipleship by uniting
the church,
Reaching out to affirm the essentials of the faith Embracing tolerance, patience, encouragement and cooperation over nonessentials Seeking racial reconciliation Praying
for a passion like 1 Thess 3.10-13 by
being
merciful to the city,
Engaging culture in evangelism Standing
for social justice (justice for the unborn, etc) Remembering the poor Seeking
the welfare of our city (opposite
of monastic tendencies to withdraw our Christian influence) by
triumphing
in all nations,
Cultivating a passion for missions Cooperating with surrounding churches for reaching of the nations Sending out to missionaries to where Christ has not been named Where Christ has not been named, send cross-cultural missionaries Where Christ has been named, support indigenous missionaries through the
power of the Spirit,
Seeking after the gifts which the Spirit has given Depending upon the Spirit for His work in all of ministry to the glory
of God the Father.
